Last week I submitted Cakery to Betalist. I figured it would be a good way to expose the product to startup founders. The site is intentionally basic which seems to work best for betalist with the only real CTA to subscribe. The body of the site are simply some use-cases that help give examples of the various applications for http://Cakery.io. The site is written in NextJS/React so it'll be easy to extend later.

It's an ambitious idea! - curious to see how this goes. Will check back in...Best of luck.

September 2022 Wider market application

At a barbecue talking to a friend I had not seen in years. He asked what I'd been working on. After about 30mins explaining what DAOs were, governance, voting, proposals etc. I brought it back to a simple explanation that he as a startup founder would understand. I explained how he could use DAO Cake right now....

"So imagine you and I were in a hackathon, forget about web3. A web2 SaaS product. I'm doing the tech and you the marketing. The hackathon ends. We both agree the project has legs and keep working. None of us know if we are each going to fully commit and whether the project is going to go anywhere... so how are we going to track our contributions?"

After a few minutes of discussion and questions he said "Ah! so this is like slicing pie"

... So turns out something similar for startups already exists. I'd known other startups that tracked equity for contributions in spreadsheets and in a pie/cake like way... but did not know it was an actual product. Coming at this from web3 communities and DAO needs, it has a lot more potential on chain even if used by conventional startups.

That's a great analogy, everything else makes it sound too complex - use it on the landing page! 😁

August 2022 DAO Cake awarded web3 prize!

My DAO Cake entry in the TRON hackathon took out a top prize in the web3 category. Thank you to Tron DAO and the Tron community for their support. Out of all my experiments in web3 this year DAO Cake is the most awarded. Time double down on the concept and find the first market.

April 13, 2022 How I came up with the idea

I committed to "go deep" on DAOs since October 2021. Having developed products for the future of work for about 6 years, I sensed an opportunity in DAOs. All my reading pointed to the fact that Decentralized Autonomous Organisazions were the future of how we'll work. Joning DAOs, starting my own, talking to DAO masters and community managers I began to understand their problems. The processes were very manual and saw there was an opportunity here.... just not clear on what exactly it was. All I knew is that DAO tooling was something I wanted to build.
