Due to some difficulties we could not serve our customers with new features. After making some changes (see last blog) our work has paid off and we have exceeded the 1k users per yesterday. 🎉🎉🎉

Since we couldn't deliver features for our customers for a long time, we had a method to take the customer requests and give them a view on our plan. We have taken the requests from them with a roadmap and feature list and will now prepare and deliver them. Now we will continue to work on our success. We are excited about the journey.

Today, I want to share a personal journey that we, at Data Jumbo, have recently embarked upon. It's a tale of rapid development, technological pitfalls, and the tough choices we had to make in pursuit of creating the best product for our users.

The Speedy MVP
When we began our journey, our primary focus was to get a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) out the door as quickly as possible. With a tight-knit team of two talented developers, we built our application at an impressive pace. However, as is often the case when speed is prioritized, some corners were cut. We opted to use Google Cloud Functions, believing it would suffice for our initial requirements.

Facing the Consequences
It wasn't long before the limitations of our chosen shortcuts began to show. We encountered massive performance issues, something that neither we nor our users were prepared for. Such technological challenges can test the mettle of any startup, and we were no exception.

The decision was made: We needed to switch from Google Cloud Functions to a more robust Node.js environment. But this wasn't a mere 'switch'. It was a substantial migration process that required us to halt the development of new features and focus solely on restructuring.

The Current Scenario
With only one developer now spearheading the migration process, our pace has inevitably slowed. While our tech team is deeply engrossed in this transition, the rest of us are facing the brunt of paused feature implementations. We've had the challenging task of communicating with our customers, some of whom have been eagerly waiting for new features, explaining the delay and asking for their patience.

Silver Linings
Despite the challenges, there's a lesson in every situation. Our current predicament has taught us the invaluable lesson of sustainable development. It's crucial to find a balance between speed and quality. While getting to market quickly is essential, ensuring the foundation of your product is solid is equally important.

To our customers who've been with us through thick and thin – we're immensely grateful. Your understanding and patience mean the world to us. We're working tirelessly to ensure that, very soon, we'll not only resume the rollout of new features but also offer you an even more robust and efficient platform.

A Message to Fellow Founders
To all Indie founders out there, remember that every startup has its set of challenges. Our journey is a testament to the fact that initial choices, no matter how well-intentioned, can sometimes lead to unforeseen obstacles. But, with resilience, adaptability, and a keen focus on serving our customers, we can navigate these challenges.

In these moments of crisis, lean on your community, be transparent with your customers, and always be open to learning and pivoting.
