I came up with the idea of databar.ai while writing an article on COVID-19 articles. I was trying to analyze 100k articles about coronavirus to see if different news outlets report different stories (used some simple NLP tools like NLTK, TextBlob). But what I found most annoying in that process was actually getting the data that I needed for my analysis. I used NewsAPI to get the dataset and it wasn't too difficult, but filtering, cleaning, and actually writing the code to connect to the API was so time consuming, I spent 60% getting & cleaning data, and just 40% of my time on analyzing it.
So that's when I though - maybe other people have the same problem! So I started working on Databar.ai.
