Sanitized Database Snapshots for Software Developers
I got my first paying subscriber for DBSnapper today! I've been waiting a long time for this day. I launched v2.0 of this application a couple weeks ago, and have been actively marketing it ever since. It's amazing what a bit of marketing can do ;)
I recently launched the DBSnapper cloud which provides centralized configuration, storage, and sharing of database snapshots.
If you're a developer working on a product that uses a database, DBSnapper speeds up software development letting you create sanitized database snapshots of your data and load it into your development environment.

After resuming development on DBSnapper, I've cleaned up the coce and re-released it, added documentation, and well, it's not complete by any means and there's still work to do, but as everyone always says on here... release early and focus on marketing!
DBSnapper is useful if you you're a developer and need:
- A database backup and restore (snapshotting) solution
- An easy way to copy your database from one DB host to another
- An easy way to use production data for development and testing

Refreshed the main website, upgraded dependencies for the CLI, working on re-releasing a new build with some documentation to go along with it.
Would love to hear from other developers regarding how you manage getting production snapshots into their dev environment for development and testing purposes.
Yes, there are manual test fixtures you can create, but do you have a process that pulls a production snapshot, sanitizes it, and makes it available to developers on your team for dev / testing purposes?

What kind of marketing did you do?
Blog posts, some engagement & posts on HN and Linkedin, some LI outreach, and ultimately being consistent with all of this.
HN is a good place for DB Snapper. Have you considered Dev To (sorry I'm not allowed to post links yet)?
Good idea, I'll look at getting something posted there as well.
