September 11, 2019 So how was Product Hunt?

I wanted to share results from my launch on Product Hunt.

I submitted to PH 1AM PST. I thought Decent Budget might be more appealing to european audience, but it seems that PH is more US-centric, and that confirms my visitors data: the largest spike of visits were 7-9am PST time (although Europe was a bit more active than US during the day, but there were more factors in play).

Shortly after launching Decent Budget was featured on PH, which was a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, I haven't accumulated enough upvotes early on, so I ended up behind "show more" button. While I was slowly working my way, other products on the front page were gaining upvotes more quickly, so I was left behind.

In any case, here are some raw numbers from the launch:

Upvotes: 27

Page hits: 1076 (incl. bots)

Unique visits: 501 (excl. bots)

Signups: 19

Conversion: 3.8%

    I am glad to see that you are able to convert on a product that is not per say a new idea. I myself am thinking about starting a project that has a few competitors. It's nice to see you are doing well so early one.

      Thank you! Competitors will always exist, but I believe that if you can differentiate yourself, have a strong stance about how things should be and convey your ideas to other people, you'll eventually find your audience. Good luck with your project!

    Congratulations on being featured and getting some new sign ups!

    Have you been on Product Hunt for a while and built much of a history on there?

September 10, 2019 Launch!

After three years of prototyping, experimenting, building and rebuilding, Decent Budget is finally publicly launched! While I soft launched it a few weeks ago to make sure everything's stable and ready, now it seems to be the right time to start spreading the word.

Decent Budget was featured on Product Hunt shortly after submission, so that seems a decent start (pun intended).

The journey is going to be long, but a fun one. Decent Budget became a sole supervisor of my finances, and I can't wait to see where I could take it.
