Check out my listing on Fifty - https://fiddy.co/decisiondonkey.com and smash the up vote button :)

I came across Fifty on IH after seeing some posts from @hessel. I loved the idea of explaining your Project in 50 characters or less.

    But that's 61 characters?

I looked it up because I could feel the mental struggle of trying to process this statement compared to the other ones when you click through that are a breeze to read.

I was wondering how you snuck in "cloud based" 😂

    1. 3

I think you have 4 things in this statement:

      1. Cloud Based - descriptor
      2. Pro/Con List - product
      3. Built - verb
      4. Life's Toughest Decisions - problem

I think you can get a better verb (#3) in there: Make
I think #1 is not a top level benefit. I'd be surprised if it wasn't cloud based.

Personally this would of piqued my interest to click:
Pro/Con List To Make Life's Toughest Decisions

      And it's 47 characters. :)

I'm going to change it right now :) I like that much better.

And honestly, I didn't even count the characters! I figured it would have restricted me from going past 50 characters so I thought I was okay haha!

    Good luck 🙌

June 28, 2020 Hired college student for development of MVP

One of my friend's sister-in-law is currently attending college to become a software engineer so I decided to reach out to her to see if she would be willing to work on the Decision Donkey MVP as a way to earn some money over the summer.

I thought this would be a good practice for her and give her a project to add to her portfolio. Also, it would help me bring Decision Donkey to life faster.

I am a non-technical founder so I explored using no-code to develop but continued to get lost in how to connect everything and what tools to use. Plus, I wanted my own code base that I could continue to grow and build upon in the future.

Currently, I'm working on learning programming -- taking Codecademy classes to learn the basics with hopes of enrolling in further education starting in October.

Here is the list of Milestones for the MVP Development:

  • Project initiation - 1 page landing / home page
  • Completion of user dashboard (current and past decisions)
  • Completion of working Pro Con list
  • Completion of Review Past Decision
  • User Login / Sign up

I believe hiring college students for MVP development can be a strategic move. Their fresh perspectives, coupled with their technical acumen, can bring innovative solutions to the table. While they might lack industry experience, their enthusiasm and adaptability can be invaluable during the rapid iteration process of MVP development. It's essential to provide them with clear guidance and mentorship to harness their potential fully and ensure the project's success.

I hired a college student for development of MVP. I asked him to do some coding and he made some progress. So I asked him to make a wireframe and he did that as well. The design of the site was very good and simple but it was not responsive. Go to Diamond engagement rings nyc to get best rings at cheap prices. So I asked him to fix that issue as well. He did that too and now the website is responsive and user friendly. The student had a great idea and he wanted me to help him with it.

June 21, 2020 Created a Prototype / Wireframes for Web App

Here is the Prototype I can share of the MVP from Marvel - https://marvelapp.com/4i2c5ce

I put together this prototype and wireframes on Marvel to prepare for our MVP of Decision Donkey - www.decisiondonkey.com.

I'm a non technical founder with no design skills. All I have is an idea that I am trying to make come to life from a problem I experience at my full time job.

Let's be honest, I'm trying to figure this out and learn as I go!

Right now, we are gather beta sign ups at www.decisiondonkey.com.

Decision Donkey will be a Collaborative Pro/Con list built for teams to help make the best decisions, however, there will be a free version for individuals to create their own Pro/Con list for personal decisions.

June 5, 2020 Hit 10 Beta Sign Ups - Now on to 100!

In just two days from when I first posted on Indie Hackers, we hit our goal of 10 Beta Signs Ups.

I have no product, not even an MVP. All I have is an idea from a problem I experienced at my full time job. I am needing validation to take this into development. For me, I am extremely happy with 10! Some of you will laugh at that, but with just an idea and no product to show, I'm trying to stay optimistic.

Some notes:

  • 152 Landing Page visits
  • 130 Unique Visitors
  • 6.6% conversion rate

I need to improve my landing page so I can increase conversion rates-- focusing more on the problem and my ideal target customer.

The next goal is 100 Beta Sign-Ups. Once we are there, we will begin our MVP.

If you are interested, please sign up - www.decisiondonkey.com

June 3, 2020 Created a Landing Page

Over the weekend, I had an idea to create an interactive Pro/Con list built for businesses to help with their decision make and help measure past decisions.

Over the weekend:

Now we are asking for feedback from the community and see if we can validate the idea.

The goal is 10 Beta Sign Ups by 6/20. Is this possible?

About

Making business decisions as a team is hard. Plus, it 's difficult to manage/measure past decisions that you made months and years ago. The Pro/Con list is the pillar of making those tough decisions.
