Early in development I had a simple API you could consume to pull the full data set. It took a few weeks of evenings and weekends, but now I have a full featured API that is way more usable than before. Now, I feel from a technical perspective there is not a lot of features missing to prevent someone from getting some use out of the site.

Next steps are to work on visibility on the web (Google) and in the developer community. I will also continue to add new data sources . Currently I have almost nobody actually seeing visiting the site.

After discovering and learning 11ty. I built and launched a static site on Netlify that at least handles my basic goals. It now lists and organizes and makes accessible about 25 public data sets. I have much more to add, but this is a fun start, and the platform gives me a good springboard for adding more data and features.

I didn't know I would call it that at the time. I wanted a website that would collect public data from all over the web, organize it and make it more accessible and available to developer. I wanted to work on something more for the public good than for profit.
