Hit 500,000 installs on the Google Play Store

Deep Meditate just hit the 500,000 milestone on the Play Store and I'm super pumped about it! Although download count is not a metric I optimize for any longer, hitting 500,000 is more of a personal feel-good.

Deep Meditate was a small project I started 1.5 years ago, and now it's one of the top apps for meditation for Android with $0 spent on ads or any other paid acquisition channel.

From day one the idea was always about building a better product that solves a real problem. Almost all of my past ventures were about building products and then finding a market. With Deep Meditate, it was the reverse.

That's awesome! Besides app store optimization, have you done any marketing push? How are customers finding you? And what do you think is making them pick you over the tons of meditation apps out there?

No other marketing push. Our biggest growth engine has been in ASO and that's worked very well. But I would say the 2nd largest contributor is word of mouth. It's practical that if you help solve a problem for someone or change someone's life, naturally they'll become brand evangelists. And this is something I've been trying to nurture. We're still small, and so far these techniques have helped us grow sustainably.

If you read Deep Meditate's Google Play reviews, you'll see what I mean :)

That's really incredible! It shows you are doing a good job solving people's problems.

Are there specific intentional things you do to encourage word-of-mouth?
