Deku Deals

Price tracking for Nintendo Switch games

Deku Deals has monetized exclusively through affiliate links and advertising so far, but a bunch of my users have requested a way to give directly to the site (either because they buy from stores that don't have affiliate programs, or have adblock turned on, or just want to be extra supportive), so I launched a Patreon.

After I week of having it live, I've got 41 patrons contributing $115 monthly!

Find benefits to offer patrons on a site where everything is already free was a little tricky, but I landed on a) turning off ads for them and b) sorting them to the front of the email queue when deal alerts are sent out.

Launched, hit the top of /r/NintendoSwitchDeals and /r/NintendoSwitch, got a couple hundred users over the first few days.

Initially supported only the U.S. (Nintendo eShop, Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, GameStop and Target).

About

I've used price tracking/deal alerting for PC games, and wanted them for my Switch as well.
