Delprio
AI-powered lead outreach and follow up tool
Title: I'm a college student who built an AI lead follow-up tool for gyms. 1 client, $149 MRR, launched last week.
Body:
Hey IH!
I'm Austin, a CS student at Virginia Tech. I've been building Delprio nights and weekends for the past few months and just launched it last week.
The problem: Gym owners and personal trainers lose leads because they're too busy training clients to respond to inquiries. The average gym takes hours to reply to a new lead. By then, the person either signed up somewhere else or lost the motivation that made them reach out in the first place.
What it does: When someone fills out a gym's intake form, Delprio reads what they wrote and sends a personalized AI email within about 60 seconds. Not a template — it actually references their goals, their situation, whatever they typed. If they don't book, follow-ups go out automatically. The gym owner gets a dashboard showing every lead, conversion rates, and a weekly summary.
Where I'm at:
1 paying client (a personal trainer in Blacksburg, VA)
$149/month MRR
9 active workflows running the backend (n8n + Airtable + Groq + Gmail)
10 prospects contacted this weekend, waiting on replies
Just listed on Product Hunt, Capterra, and G2
What I've learned so far:
Walking into local gyms beats cold email every time. Being a college student is actually an advantage — people want to help you.
The "I'll set it up for you, first month free" offer has gotten way more conversations started than linking to a pricing page.
Solo personal trainers are easier to close than multi-location gyms. They feel the pain immediately because they're the one missing the leads.
Building the product was the easy part. Selling it is 10x harder and 10x more important.
Tech stack: n8n for workflow automation, Airtable for the database, Groq (Llama 3.3 70B) for AI email generation, Gmail API for sending. The whole thing runs on about $50/month in infrastructure.
Here's a 60-second demo if you want to see it working: https://www.loom.com/share/8ecfd44487834878b5d79e010600e897
Would love feedback from anyone who's sold to small local businesses before. What worked? What didn't? And if you know any gym owners who complain about lead follow-up, send them my way.
About
Delprio exists because gym owners and personal trainers shouldn't lose members just because they were too busy training clients to reply to an email.

Walking into gyms makes sense, hard to ignore someone standing there vs another cold email.
One thing though, how personalized can the AI really get from a basic intake form? Like if someone just writes "want to lose weight" does it actually say something useful or just generic motivation stuff?
