DetectGPT

AI Detector for ChatGPT, GPT-5, and other LLMs

August 28, 2026 I built a free AI checker because most people who search “Turnitin detector” can’t actually open Turnitin

Students keep looking for a Turnitin AI detector they can run themselves, and they usually can’t, because that score lives on a school license. I got tired of that gap, so I shipped DetectGPT: paste a draft (or a public page URL), get an AI writing score, see the stiff lines marked, share the result if you want. No account. 3,000 words. ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, Gemini, and the rest.

It is not Turnitin, not GPTZero, and not a plagiarism database. It looks at how even the sentences are, how safe the wording is, and how flat the rhythm is, which is the same kind of question as a campus AI indicator, with a different model and a number that will not match theirs. I say that in the UI on purpose.

I also wrote a pile of plain-language guides around the searches people actually type (does Turnitin detect ChatGPT, Grammarly, QuillBot, what the green/yellow icon means) because the rumor mill is louder than the product docs.

If you have a draft that started in a model, try it and tell me where the highlights feel wrong. That’s the part I still want to get less twitchy.
