Devo
GH Trending, HN and PH on every new tab!
As of today, Devo has reached 1000 users on Google Chrome Store. Throughout the last year, Devo had ~800 users and it was more or less stable, and I believe these users have found the extension through the open-source codebase on GitHub: https://github.com/karakanb/devo
For those of you who hasn't seen the project before, Devo is a new tab extension that displays the main pages of various platforms such as GitHub Trending, Product Hunt, HackerNews, DesignerNews, and DEV. I have built the extension for myself and made it open-source since the beginning.
I have written an article recently that explains how does the backend of Devo works as well as the advantages and disadvantages of serverless platforms, and that article made viral, had more than 20k reads and quite a lot of traffic, which also drove some people to Devo as well: https://levelup.gitconnected.com/handling-350k-requests-for-3-using-lambda-c258ace3da58
I don't plan to monetize Devo, but I am happy that there are 1000 people out there using my extension!
Devo is launched on Google Chrome webstore and Mozilla Firefox web store!

Very cool. Congrats! Even though you're not monetizing, I appreciate the attention to detail you're paying on how you've acquired users and what distributed channels are working. Useful approach regardless.
Congratulations 🎉 - it's a neat idea and stylishly executed.

Thank you so much! That was the goal for me as well, I cannot give back as much as I take from it, but it's at least a step for me.
