February 5, 2022 Built version 2 of the product

Since releasing and testing the MVP I've made significant stability and UX improvements.
Some updates:

  • Improved flow for reviewers
  • Added scorecards for reviewers
  • Added 10 tests
  • Added feedback UI to allow users to send feedback

Lots more to do!

November 5, 2021 Built the MVP

I chose to focus on tools that are familiar to software engineering candidates and chose to use Github to host the challenges.

This does bring a dependency on an external organisation but I think it's worth it for the speed of development and the availability of awesome tools to handle pull requests and issues which will make candidate's and reviewer's lives easier.

We have 5 tests now for various seniority levels.

October 18, 2021 Decided to start!

I've experienced the problems with unrealistic tech interviews first-hand plenty of times. In the meantime I've been looking at companies that do a great job of this and thinking of ideas to help them and other companies scale a similar approach.

I thought about the things that developers do every day: fix issues, build new features, and review pull-requests. I decided to build the initial offering around this.
