DialoguePractice
Practice real conversations alone
Hey Indie Hackers,
I just launched DialoguePractice — a web app for people who want to practice real-life conversations in a foreign language, but do not always have a tutor, speaking partner, or live call available.
The idea came from a simple problem: many language learners can read, watch videos, use apps, or even generate dialogues with ChatGPT — but when it is time to actually speak, they still feel unprepared.
DialoguePractice is meant to be a private rehearsal space for that moment.
You can:
open a ready-made bilingual scenario
create or paste your own dialogue
assign voices to different speakers
listen line by line or as a full conversation
slow down playback
repeat phrases
practice shadowing
save your own scenarios locally
The main use case is not “learn a language magically.”
It is more practical:
Before a job interview, hotel check-in, doctor visit, coffee order, workplace small talk, or relocation situation — you can rehearse the conversation several times before it happens in real life.
I think there is a gap between passive language learning and real speaking practice. DialoguePractice tries to close that gap by turning useful dialogues into repeatable voice-based drills.
Right now the app is free, and I’m mostly looking for feedback.
I’d especially love to know:
Is the positioning clear?
Which use case feels strongest: travel, work, relocation, interviews, or daily life?
Would you use this after generating a dialogue in ChatGPT?
What would make you come back and practice regularly?
