Hello everyone, my name is Quang, I'm a solo indie dev from Paris, France.

For the last year I've worked on a side project that I'm in love with, dim0.net (pronunciation "dee-moh", sounds like demo right!), while having a full-time job beside.

Why spending my time on this? Here's why: I detected a loop, a pattern. Today we search on Google, chat with AIs like Claude or ChatGPT, then copy paste the answer into some note space like Notion or Obsidian. A lot of us love also brainstorming on tools like Excalidraw or Tldraw before synthesizing everything into a long note. Then we lose time extracting things from our notes to create a presentation. This workflow is so common, and it involves a lot of copy-paste.

That's why I came up with Dim0. Inside Dim0, you can ask the AI agent to search and do things, and it will reason and write directly back to the canvas. On the canvas you can brainstorm with rough shapes like on Excalidraw, create rich-text notes like Notion, create HTML widgets like charts and visual explainers, add code snippets. You can also ask AI to generate these elements for you, or to edit existing nodes on the board. And you can put some frames and present your work directly from the canvas - no switching to slides needed.

I've had my account on Indie Hackers for a few months now. But I always hesitated. My nature is timid - I love learning, developing, creating something, but I always feel uncomfortable and weird getting out there and talking to people. But I know I must. Because my dream would be to have Dim0 be useful to people around the world, people having the same struggles as mine in their work.

And also - this project is a tribute to the team I worked with before. We had this idea together, but the company stopped and now everyone continues with their new jobs and new lives, and we are no longer together. This project is a thank you note to my AI team at Stellia. We had a great time together. And I wish you all the best for the future.

About

I got tired of switching between Notion, Excalidraw and ChatGPT just to think through one idea. So I built the canvas I always wanted - where notes, code, diagrams and AI all live together
