Dispatch

A few weeks ago I got tired of doing the same tedious thing over and over: write one good article, then manually rewrite it three more times — once for LinkedIn, once as an X thread, once as a video script. Same idea, three different formats, three separate rewrites. It was eating up more time than the actual writing.

So I built Dispatch to do that step for me. Paste in an article or transcript, and it hands back a LinkedIn post, an X thread, and a short video script, each written the way people actually read on that platform — not just the same paragraph copy-pasted with a hashtag stuck on the end.

The part I'm most proud of isn't the idea, though — it's that I built and launched the entire thing without spending a single dollar. The whole stack is free tier: Vercel hosts the site for free, Google's Gemini API handles the AI generation on its free tier (no credit card required, which mattered a lot since Stripe and a few other "free" options actually require billing details upfront), and GitHub stores the code. The only unavoidable cost anywhere in the pipeline is the eventual payment processor cut once real money starts moving — everything before that is genuinely $0.

I also built it without user accounts or a database. Free usage is tracked per-browser with a simple daily limit, and unlocking unlimited access is a one-time payment rather than a subscription — partly because I'm one person without a dev team, and subscriptions bring a lot of complexity (renewals, cancellations, login systems) that a solo indie project doesn't need on day one.

It's live now and free to try. I'd genuinely love feedback — especially on the output quality and what platform you'd want added next (Instagram captions? Newsletter format? Reddit posts?). That feedback is what decides what I build next, not the other way around.
