Task and team managing

June 25, 2026 Built a task manager because I was tired of Asana for a 3-person team

The problem
Every small team I worked with had the same issue: tasks got assigned but ownership stayed unclear, context got buried in chat, and work either got duplicated or quietly forgotten. Tools like Asana/ClickUp solve this by adding more features — more views, more automations. I wanted the opposite.

What I built
DistroTask — a task manager with almost no learning curve. The only thing it asks you to think about is "who owns this, and what do they need to know." No onboarding flow, no admin panel to configure before your team can start.

Where I'm at
Just launched. [X usuarios / 0 usuarios todavía / X equipos probándolo] — being fully honest, I'm at the "find the first real users" stage.

What I'd love feedback on

  • If you run a small team (2-6 people): how do you currently handle task ownership? Is it actually a problem for you, or am I solving something that doesn't hurt enough to switch tools?

  • Anyone willing to try it for a week and tell me what's missing? Genuinely want the criticism, not the politeness.

Built it in react for the ui and go for the backend.

June 23, 2026 Launched DistroTask — simple task manager for small teams

Hey everyone,

I've been working on DistroTask in my spare time and just opened it up. It's a task manager I built for my small team because we kept hitting the same wall with other tools: either too simple to scale, or so complex nobody actually uses it.

What it is:

  • Tasks with priorities and due dates

  • Team projects

  • File sharing

  • Shared calendar

  • Time tracking

The pricing question:

I went with flat team pricing instead of per-user. Here's the logic — if you have a 3-person team and add a 4th, per-user pricing punishes you for growing. With flat pricing, it doesn't matter.

Free tier: 3 users, 3 projects Then €4/mo Basic, €12/mo Pro, €35/mo Enterprise

Is per-user pricing actually better for most teams, or is flat team pricing something you'd actually use?

I know there's a million task managers. This is the one I wanted to exist, even if nobody else does. Would genuinely appreciate honest feedback on whether I'm solving a real problem or just my own frustration.
