Build amazing product walkthroughs running on your websites
It actually happened a few days ago, but we're celebrating it today.
We had (and still feel friction) in users on boarding themselves on DivShow (https://divshow.bytebeacon.com) to create and maintain their product walkthroughs. We noticed much less friction when someone from our team demoed the product to potential customers, but we really wish to get to a place where the integration instructions / demo is moved completely online so no human from our end has to physically be present to demo any steps.
We finally made measurable progress when we saw a user finding the value and completing integration and deciding to convert all by themselves for the first time. No one from our team helped them so far, but we are scheduled to talk to them next week to better understand the reasons behind their decision and how we can address concerns they may have had to address them for other such customers.
One of our clients requested us to be present at one of their meetups to present our story on DivShow as a lighting talk along side their core presentation on better selling methods.
This opened a pipeline of new users who were curious about the product and were serious about the conversation, given the reference came from a trusted and happy customer.
The total number of playbacks reached 1000 for our first paying client. This was mainly over 2 shows they were using on their landing page.
This felt amazing as they were running DivShow under an A/B test and we not only dominated the test, but also helped close deals at a much higher rate.
We decided to build a SaaS offering and make the recording and playing of these "shows" ridiculously easy. Hence all this can be done on your browser with 1 line of JS .. and no installs required!
We ended up testing it out with a few users from my previous app who had interacted with the player on my other product, but now wanted a similar show built for their websites as well.
After watching a lot of my users (for a different product) getting stuck at the same step, I decided to build a recorded response. An embedded video didn't really make sense for what I was trying to show, hence I decided to just build the presentation on the website canvas itself. This was v1 of what turned out to be DivShow
