Artisan Keycaps and 3D Printing
Not a big number but it's a good start after less than 2 months into this business. In 2021, we plan to make this hobby our full-time business. The first thing we will do for this month is to register our business, finish a website (besides Etsy )and reach out to local businesses in Georgia to ask if they are interested in having a 3D printed product in their shop.
We only planned to use the 3D printer as a hobby. After learning basic skills in 3D design via TinkerCad, we listed our products on Facebook Marketplace for fun. Right after that, we received 2 orders from buyers. We shipped our first 3D printed product via Facebook Marketplace. After receiving the first few orders and custom orders, we slowly turned our hobby in 3D printing into a business.
About
We started making 3D printed products in November 2020 as a hobby. Then we came across keycaps and since then, we made artisan keycaps and keyboard accessories for mechanical keyboard enthusiasts. Based in Georgia, USA.

Congrats!
What 3D printers do you use?
Thank you, Cristian. I'm using Ender 3 V2 and Tenlog Hands 2. Are you using a 3D printer as well?
Yeah, my girlfriend bought me an Enter 3 V2 last Christmas and I learned how to 3D print. It has been pretty useful since, I even learned and did some 3D modelling: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4692058
Woww it looks nice. My husband and I just bought the printers over 2 months ago so we're still learning. We're primarily using Blender, what software do you use?
I had no experience with 3D modelling so I used https://www.tinkercad.com which had basically no learning curve and it seems perfectly suited for 3D printing models.
Nice, I first used Tinkercad too then switched to Blender. I also had no 3D modelling experience before. Blender is free so there are many tutorials online.
Have you had any success selling to shops locally? Trying to do the same thing up here in NJ without much luck!
Sorry for the late reply. We haven’t sold to local shops yet. We are currently making 3D printed keycaps for mechanical keyboard and custom gifts in general. What are you selling?
