DocDiff
Compare PDF, DOCX, and TXT files and see exactly what change
I just launched a small tool called DocDiff.
It lets you upload two documents (PDF, DOCX, or TXT) and clearly see what changed using color-coded diffs. I built it because reviewing document changes usually means heavy software, accounts, or manual scanning, and I wanted something faster and simpler.
It’s intentionally small:
- no accounts
- upload two files
- see what changed
- export if needed
I’m charging a one-time $5 for Pro access to validate if this is useful.
I’d really appreciate honest feedback:
- Is the use case clear?
- Would you trust a tool like this for real work?
- Is there something important missing?

Congrats on the launch, looks solid. How are you currently thinking about acquiring early users and gathering feedback?
Thanks! Right now I'm validating demand with small Google Ads tests targeting high-intent keywords like “compare pdf online” to get real usage data quickly.
I’m focused on increasing the % of visitors who actually run a comparison (improving onboarding, adding a sample demo, clearer trust messaging) and measuring whether users feel enough friction to upgrade.
Still early -> mostly optimizing for learning and real behavior data before thinking about scaling.
That's a smart approach. Validating with high-intent keywords first provides you with clear signals rather than just vanity traffic.
One effective strategy I've observed during Phase 1 validation, especially for tools like PDF utilities, is to engage with Reddit threads where people are actively asking questions such as "How do I compare two PDFs?" or expressing frustration with existing tools.
The benefit of this approach goes beyond just gaining traffic; it offers raw, unfiltered feedback from individuals who are already facing the problem.
Have you considered exploring this avenue, or are you intentionally limiting your validation to paid search for now?
