Docsumo

1.5 months since we launched Docsumo and made it freely available for people to try. The last 1.5 months have been eye opening and we have learnt so much from our customers.

Seeing people come organically to your website and try out the product is very encouraging. It gives us the confidence that people not only have the problem we are trying to solve, they also like what we are building.

It took us about 4 months to ship our first product out of the dock. Proud to present Docsumo to Indie Hacker community.

Docsumo automates data capture from unstructured documents such as invoices, purchase orders, pay stubs and converts it to structured formats such as CSV, JSON and XML.

My co-founder and I have always dreamt of creating a product of our own. We were running an AI tech consultancy for almost 8 months to find problem statements and build a cash reserve to invest in our first product. One such problem that we stumbled upon was manual data entry. Data entry is an industry of its own and makes robots out of people where performance measured by words per hour and the number of errors per 100 words. Having solved this problem for one of our clients and having faced this problem in our own accounting, we have decided to build Docsumo, a software that automates data entry using AI.
