Hey Indiehackers,
I’m Marc, the founder of DocuWriter.ai. Hitting 6k MRR is a significant milestone, but surprisingly, life feels pretty similar to when I was at 1k or 2k MRR. Here’s why:
Reinvestment Focus
Every dollar earned is reinvested back into the business. I’m constantly experimenting with different acquisition channels and investing in new tools to enhance the product and streamline operations.
Growth Over Comfort
The goal is growth. While 6k MRR provides some financial stability, my focus remains on scaling the business rather than personal comfort. It’s all about long-term vision and sustainability.
Constant Learning and Experimentation
Reaching this point has taught me the importance of agility and experimentation. Trying out new strategies and learning from them is key to continuous improvement and growth.

Huge milestone! 🚀
DocuWriter just closed a good September archiving 1.000$ MRR (12.000 ARR). It's the first time I see this 🥹
Very proud and happy to see how a side project goes that way.
What we can expect by the end of the year?? This big question will be answered very soon :)

I suppose its one thousand in MRR. For a second my brain went is that $1 revenue.
Even if its $1 MRR or $1K MRR everything should be celebrated a hundred percent. Congratulations mate
Well well well... If you scroll down a bit in this blog, you'll see that July was terrible, with almost no new customers and a few churns.
But it was July, and people were at the beach, drinking Sangria and eating Paella :)
August was an excellent month, we have recovered and increased the number of customers since July, and September looks good too.
The current MRR (14th Sept.) is 863$ 💚, 300+ more than July.
So enjoy the last days of summer, and let's keep this alive!

Last week I ran a ProductHunt ad using what they call the "Awareness model " (Placements - alternatives and topics pages)
So I spent the minimum amount, 1000$ during 3-5 days and this was the result:
📈 469 PH clicks vs 246 visitors (Matomo analytics) 🧐
0.70 CTR - 66.666 Impressions
⬇️ 4 users registered (Matomo)
0 Trials
Summary: An absolute disaster 😆
Maybe some users blocked Matomo using Brave or AdBlock, but disaster anyway
I am trying out some other alternatives to advertise the product. I'll let you know

This is my experience with ALL ad platforms so far. I suck at marketing though, I am probably doing something wrong, but I am pretty convinced all the traditional ad purchasing (from Google Ads, Reddit Ads, Fb Ads, etc.), mostly bring fake users and fake engagement and you need months of A/B testing and refining the ad copy, landing page, target audience and more before you can run a profitable ad campaign.
Now whenever I'm starting a new ad campaign, I am assuming that all money I put in it will be gambled and, as with gambling, the most likely outcome is to lose it.

Yep, it's a bit weird... I've tried Reddit ads too, and they said that I received 50 clicks and I just had 3 or 4 visitors to my analytics page... I know there are ad blockers but... come on

Wow that's indeed a failed experiment. Or PH ads that just sucks.
Have you tried with LinkedIn, FB, Google or IG? They might be cheaper and get better results.
