What makes this interesting is that you're not really building an invoicing tool—you’re building a replacement for the “mental overhead layer” that freelancers carry after work is already done. Most tools stop at generating the invoice. The real friction starts after that, when money becomes a follow-up problem instead of a solved transaction.
