Dois-Je Signer

After watching 3 friends in 6 months get stuck in gym subscriptions and telecom contracts they didn't fully read, I built Dois-Je Signer.

The product:

- iOS app (iPhone only for now, French market focus)

- AI specialized on French law (not a generic GPT wrapper)

- 30-second analysis for any contract: PDF, photo, or pasted text

- Returns a risk score 0-10 and every dangerous clause quoted with explanation

- Privacy-first: contract content deleted right after analysis

The numbers so far:

- Built solo in 6 months as an indie iOS dev

- Pricing: 4.99€/mo or 49.99€/year. First analysis free, no card.

- App Store rating: 5.0

- Average French consumer loses around 312€/year on unread contract terms (industry data), pricing positioned as "less than one mistake"

What I learned building it:

- Specialized beats generalist. Training prompts on French legal text (Code de la consommation, Code civil) gives way better results than a generic GPT-4 wrapper. The model picks up French-specific clauses like "tacite reconduction" or "clause attributive de juridiction" naturally.

- Privacy is the differentiator. Every French user asks "where does my contract go?" before pricing. We delete content right after analysis. Only the score stays.

- Marketing is harder than building. The product was ready in 4 months. I'm still figuring out distribution 2 months post-launch.
