$1,054 in sales in 24 hours

We have implemented our payment method last week on Dorik and got 8 paid customers in the first week. But we have received some requests for a Lifetime Deal. We were thinking something like that for our early beta users. Our early users giving their valuable time to try and test our platform and giving us feedback. So we wanted to reward them.

Yesterday, We offered a Lifetime Deal for $49 (still active), and automated the process of giving early access so that new users can get access instantly. We are very close to public beta.

While I was preparing to send an email to our registered users about the deal, something dramatic happened on twitter.

Matt tweeted this:

From this tweet, @NoCodeJac found us and bought the Lifetime Plan and tweeted about Dorik. 😄

We started receiving lots of visitors from Twitter. Meantime, I have sent the email update to our registered users about our Lifetime Deal and boom— Sales started coming from our existing users and also from newly registered users. We have got 23 customers in the last 24 hours and $1,054 in sales. Around ~40% of that came from the new users who found us on Twitter.

We are really thankful to the wonderful NoCode community here and on twitter. The support and feedback are amazing so far.

Possible Mistake: We switched to EmailOctopus from MailChimp. Our Lifetime Deal emails have been opened by only 12% of registered users so far. On MailChimp campaigns, it was over 40%

Hey Mizan, I recently moved from Mailchimp to EmailOctopus also. I saw a drop in opens like you did. I then verified my domain on EO, and the % jumped back up to MC levels. Have you happened to verify your email there yet? If not, here are the instructions (it's not setup by default): https://help.emailoctopus.com/article/160-verifying-a-new-domain

      Thanks, Peter.

I have verified the domain before sending the campaign. But the drop was huge. Got your tweet on twitter. Sending you a DM. :-)

As per comment below, dropped you a line on this one as a simple one to solve :)

          Got your email and replied.

I switched from Mailchimp to EO recently. My open rate on the first campaign is 60%. I week later I sent one more campaign to those non-openers, and those people really don't open it. Not sure what is the problem.

But I was thinking of going back to Mailchimp again because EO doesn't have simple segmentation to send a follow up email campaign to non-openers.

Hey one reason you're getting lower email openings is your emails are going into Junk mail. I just signed up on your site and I had to look into my spam folder (provider is Outlook.com). Just an FYI. Great work BTW!

Thanks for the update, Fritz. I will look into it more. :-)

Yes exactly what @flarco said above. Some reason email octopus gets sent to spam folders. Its happened to me as well, I just switched back to MailChimp and problem solved.

That's not good and really sorry you had a poor experience. Do drop me an email if you ever want to consider switching again. The vast majority of issues related to getting into the inbox we can help solve!

            Thanks for the information, Paolo.

I will probably go back to MailChimp.

              Hi Mizan,
Have dropped you an email on this as I've taken a look at your last campaign and can see it's a simple one to solve!

    Congrats! Looks awesome.

I almost signed up for the lifetime myself. I'm not your perfect lifetime though as I won't be building anything for a couple of months.
Only thing that stopped me is that it'll be for a business and I'd want a menu icon stuck to the top that would allow you to jump to various parts of the page.

Is that a planned feature? If so I'll go back and buy it now.
    Cheers

    Hi Mizan!
I bought your life time offer and intend to use it soon. Your builder is beautiful and very impressive. Still checking things out, and also excited by your roadmap features, especially rtl and multipage.

Meanwhile I can offer feedback that the registration form didn't work for me on mobile. I got an error that the field is not valid, both on the upper and lower email fields. On laptop it worked fine with the same email address.

Also I didn't find a way to change the colors of a section style. I can change the background to a solid, gradient or photo, but this overrides the existing shapes, so I can't use the shapes and change their color. Is it possible? I feel like it's something that should be possible.

All in all, using your builder is a really fun and intuitive experience, and the effort you put in it really shows. I wish you lots of success!

      Thank you so much. 🙏🙏

Did you use the same link on mobile and desktop? It's working for me. We are updating the login and sign up a page soon. We will check it again. :-)

Background shapes are currently used as an image. I understand the point. And we have already planned to add "Shapes" feature for the background. It will be similar to how our section corner shapes works.

If you need any help, please let me know. You can use the live chat on the website too. :-)

      Thanks,
      Mizan

I see that the login form uses username and password, does that mean you aren't using off the shelf authentication provider and an authorization product to secure the site?

    1. 3

      Hi Warren,

      Thanks for your comment.

Currently, we are not using any provider for authentication. We have implemented the authentication following the oauth2 standard. In the future, we'll implement "login with google" and others.

      1. 2

OAuth 2.0 is a three-legged auth, if you only have the website and a backend, that probably just means you are securing the site, but doesn't mean you are using OAuth2.

Something else it would be worth pointing out, is that the website actually exposes whether a user already exists with that email address, and if the password is incorrect. Which greatly reduces the burden to logging in through the website. In general one of the reasons to an off the shelf solution, is that these prevent exposing that sort of information.

        1. 1

          Thank you, Warren.

We will revisit it. I will be in touch if we need any help. :-)

      Thank you so much!

Congrats and love the landing page! Did you use the platform to make it?

    1. 1

      Thank you so much.

Yes, It's built with our website builder without writing any code. :-)
