I built a commission-free booking system for UK beauty professionals

Most independent nail techs, brow artists, lash specialists, barbers and aesthetic practitioners in the UK are stuck using marketplace platforms that take 10–30% of every booking.

That adds up fast. A lot of these people are self-employed, working long hours, and still losing a big chunk of their income just to get clients through the door.

I got tired of seeing that, so I built DreamBook — a simple, modern booking system with a flat £12/month fee and zero commissions.

No marketplace. No percentage cuts. No complicated enterprise features they don’t need.

Just clean online booking, deposits, automatic reminders, client records, and a professional booking page they can share.

I’m focusing on the UK first (especially London and other major cities) and targeting independent beauty specialists who currently use “DM to book” or expensive platforms.

Still early days, but the product is live, the free trial is working, and I’m actively reaching out to the people who need this the most.

If you’re in the beauty industry or know someone who is tired of paying commissions, I’d love to hear your thoughts.

2K a month? Nicely done! What would you say is the most common way you get new sign-ups?

The strongest part is the economic wedge: replacing a 10–30% booking commission with a predictable £12/month cost. The real question is whether independent beauty professionals see enough booking volume to make switching worthwhile.

About

I built DreamBook because I kept seeing the same problem: independent UK beauty professionals (nail techs, brow artists, lash specialists, barbers) were losing a big chunk of their hard-earned cash
