DropZap

After a few months of building, DropZap is ready for its proper launch.

What it is: a free, mobile-first video downloader that handles 8+ platforms in one tool — Instagram (Reels, posts, carousels, stories), TikTok (no watermark), Facebook, Twitter/X, Reddit (audio-merged), Pinterest, Threads, and YouTube thumbnails. Plus a built-in MP3 audio extractor.

Why I built it: I was tired of juggling 5 different downloader apps. SnapTik, SnapInsta, SaveFrom, Y2Mate — most of them break half the time, are buried in popup ads, or refuse to work in iPhone Safari. I wanted one tool that just works.

What's different about DropZap:

- Truly one UI for all 8 platforms (no app switching)

- TikTok downloads come out watermark-free

- Instagram carousels download as a single ZIP (multi-slide → one file)

- Reddit videos are audio-merged automatically (Reddit splits audio/video into two files; DropZap re-merges them)

- Works directly in iPhone Safari and Android Chrome — no app install or browser extension required

- No signup, no paywall, no premium tier

Tech stack: Next.js + TypeScript + Tailwind CSS on the frontend, yt-dlp for video extraction, Render for Docker hosting, A-ads for monetization.

Launching on Product Hunt this Tuesday, May 19 at 12:01 AM Pacific. Would love feedback from the IH community before then — what's missing? What edge cases would you want me to cover?
