Drrac
Free Carrd Templates For Your Next Project.
Been having a lot of fun with this project & today I decided to post it to ProductHunt, spread the love 😍
https://www.producthunt.com/posts/drrac
Haven't really decided if I should continue with this project or not. Will kinda gauge the interest after today.
AJ seems to be planning some type of marketplace to Carrd, if this will be executed will then maybe this could be a good side hustle. However with the current state of Carrd I don't think there's much money in trying to monetize this idea.
Either way been enjoying creating this and brought me some new connections with cool people 😎

Function beats design. Many of the templates that I thought looked much better or that just took me a longer time to make didn't get as many transfer requests as some with really good function (like a sign up page).
-
Timing matters more than you think.
I posted on Twitter and Indiehackers everyday and thought that the time I posted wouldn't matter so much but I was completely wrong. - - Post early, get early engagement. -
Just producing a good product is not enough, even if it's free.
A product is nothing without the right delivery/marketing. -
Just because something has limitations doesn't mean that it's a bad thing. Limitations can often bring out creativity.
Twitter has limitations on letters, Carrd has on features/modifications. -
People are lurking in the back way more than you think. 99% of the people on social media doesn't produce content or even engage in content. They just lurk around in the background.
-
It's hard to see the true value of something if you haven't experienced it. no matter how much you've read or heard about it, it's always different to experience it for yourself.
-
It's easier for your creative work to get known if you apply it to trends instead of saturated markets. (It also doesn't have to be as good, i.e. less competition.)
-
Something that's easy/small to one person could be hard/big to someone else.
-
When creativity strikes get down as much on your computer/paper as possible without worrying about any details. It's much easier to fine tune something good than coming up with something new from scratch.
Day 31 of the Drrac.co project.
This is the last day! I did it. I created 1 free Carrd template every day until Christmas.
A lot of good experiences came out of this project. Now I'm gonna go and celebrate with my family. Will take some days of from work but will come back to this later on. Maybe fine tune some things and promote it a bit more.
What do you think of this project? Like it? Should I continue?
God Jul!

Thanks for the kind words! :)
I am thinking about it, however would need to find a good way to monetize this if I'm gonna keep on putting in this much time..
Taking a break now and hopefully will come back with fresh ideas for the start of next year ;)

OT: is carrds a thing and if yes why? why is it better than the rest?
-
1
Yes, I would say so.
Main reasons as I see it is Limitations & Price.
Limitations: Having a website builder with limitations might sound like a bad thing, but I actually think it makes it much easier for people to build something. The few things that Carrd do, it does very well. Limitations also bring out creativity.
Price: It's just really damn cheap. So if you are working with several landingpages/websites than this is really cheap to work with.

Day 30 of the Drrac.co project.
I decided to make a simple ecom template that you can use if you have a few products that you want to sell. You could easily integrate this with a shopify button, gumroad, stripe, paypal or whatever you like.
Let me know what you think and how you use it :)

Day 29 of the Drrac.co project.
Here's another portfolio template that you can use to show what you've worked with and write a bit more about who you are etc.
I think something like that this will be useful to many freelancers/remote workers etc.
Let me know what you think :)

Hey @Ryden where do you get the illustrations for your templates? I'm looking for space-themed ones and like the one you have here

Day 28 of the Drrac.co project.
Today we have a simple sign up page that you can use to collect more emails. I designed it thru a proven format that converts well for email capture landing pages.
I think it's clean and nice, hope you enjoy it!

Day 27 of the Drrac.co Project.
Today we have a template that you can use for a local dental clinic. It's meant to bring in phone calls to the clinic. Could be a perfect landing page for your advertising campaign.
Could of course be modified to other local businesses also.

Hey, sounds pretty cool, Even if I don't have a dental clinic, I can recommend your services to https://thehealthysmile.net/dental-services/cosmetic-dentistry-bay-village-ohio/. One of the best dental clinics I have ever visited. Everything there is absolutely new, the doctor is polite to you. Furthermore, they are good professionals, because each dentist should have 5 years' experience in the domain if they want to work there. You can check their place if you'll have some problems with your teeth, you won't be disappointed with their services.

The card template looks okay, I wouldn't expect something outstanding from a freebie. The other question is do you need to use exactly this one? Template sites offer thousands of decent card templates, so. But the professional dental clinics must provide the best website, so paid options are highly recommended. Just check this one https://www.yorkshiredentalsuite.co.uk/treatment/invisalign-leeds-teeth-straightening/. You see the top-tier level with a convenient interface and good visuals. I can't imagine these guys using the free card. But, again, if you run a small private clinic, the template is not that bad.

Cool idea. I'm curious, how many clinics have used it?
Often, clinics don't pay attention to the website's design, which creates a wrong impression. I don't say that it's bad, but I think that they should have a nice and good site because we live in a technology world. Most people look for products and services on the Internet. And I'm glad that many clinics understand this, like https://perfectasmile.com/.
Nowadays, a lot of entrepreneurs promote their businesses on Instagram and TikTok. And they make a great job, tbh. -

As a child, I had a great fear of dental clinics and dentists. My parents tried most methods to convince me to go to the dentist just for a consultation, but I didn't go, and I'm very sorry because now I have to pay a lot of money to bring my teeth to an ideal condition. Now that I'm a mother, I try to teach my children to take good care of their teeth so that they don't have to go to the dentist later. I bought them a waterpik from here http://www.dental-detective.com/the-best-waterpik-for-family. Waterpik is a home oral health appliance that uses a water jet to eliminate plaque, food deposits, germs from between our teeth and below the gum margins. The stream of pressured water removes food particles easily and leads the gums towards good health. My kids love to brush their teeth with it.
Day 26 of the Drrac.co project.
Today I'm releasing a book author template that you can use to sell your EBOOK or physical book.
Simple clean, hope you like it ;)
Just 5 days left now with this project. Time is starting to get really tight right now to work on this project since I do a lot of traveling for the upcoming days, but hopefully will be no problem releasing 5 more templates.
Day 25 of the Drrac.co project.
Use this Carrd template if you want to showcase and explain with colors.
I felt creative today and did something very different from the usual templates. Hope some of you will find it useful!
Ciao.
