August 15, 2026 Client side thermodynamics: A free browser native chimney calculator

Hey everyone. I built DruckZugPro because I was tired of fighting with ancient desktop software just to get a physical building project approved.

When you are doing heavy DIY work around the house, the last thing you want is a bureaucratic roadblock. The local inspector needs a standard DIN EN 13384-1 calculation to sign off on a chimney. I decided to automate that exact process to make things easier for builders and homeowners.

The application is entirely client side. The math engine handling the thermodynamics is pure TypeScript. I despise handing over my email address just to test a simple utility. Because of that, this tool has no database and zero server uploads. You just configure your setup, download the PDF, and hand it to the chimney sweep.

I am very curious to hear your thoughts on the live visualization component. Let me know if you manage to break the calculation engine with any extreme custom inputs.

The no-upload, no-signup approach fits the utility really well. Curious whether the live visualization makes the calculation easier to understand for people who aren't already familiar with the underlying process.

The no-account, no-upload setup is a great choice here. For something as specific as a DIN EN 13384-1 calculation, being able to just configure it and hand the PDF to the chimney sweep is exactly what I’d want. Feels like this could be getting a lot more organic traffic than it is right now, especially at $0 and with such a clear real-world use case. Curious what kind of people are finding it so far?

About

Legacy chimney software is clunky and expensive. I built this to solve my own DIY headache. Calculate the physics, print the PDF, appease the inspector, and get back to building. No backend.
