August 12, 2020 V1 Launched! Shut down MVP

Launched! V1 of Duplikit is live @ https://app.duplikit.co.

We just shut down the MVP and are considering it a win.

Instead of building a "content repurposing engine" from the start, we launched a website that allowed customers to purchase one-off services where we manually converted their podcast, blog, video, etc. into other mediums, We used Webflow & Stipe Checkout which let us do the whole thing with no code. The Webflow theme we found was 🔥. Two of us worked on the website for a week and got it to a respectable place. Wrote a few blogs to kick off SEO.

We started getting sales pretty quickly. We started by manually providing the content repurposing service. We promised a 24-hour turn-around which put a little bit of pressure on us. We have some internal tools from our other companies that helped us transcribe and edit the content. There were a few late nights of transcribing & editing video content. Once we had enough, we went to Upwork to hire a V.A. to handle the work for us.

Sold $500 worth of content repurposing services over two months. Even got some subscriptions in place for recurring customers. The biggest thing we learned was the video & podcast to blog services were the most popular. As a result, we decided to double down on that for our V1 of the app... which is now live! The downside it is took a few months to get here.

April 29, 2020 Finished MVP

MVP is live and functional at https://duplikit.co!

We did this #NoCode style using Webflow. For this product, we decided to not build anything up front.

We are using the Concierge MVP approach. A concierge MVP is "the best approach to get to know your customers and validate your business idea. In this you provide the service manually".

Customers will pay a one-time fee for content pieces to be repurposed and we will do them manually using tools we have built internally for Wavve & Zubtitle.

Let's see what happens! Now how to drive some early sales 🤔

So far: a few dozen new users, a lot of technical issues, and feature requests 😂

About

While performing a ton of content marketing for two companies over the years, we build internal tools to repurpose content in a few different ways. We now want to share the tools with others.
