May 25, 2020 Forwarded 150 people!

On the 25th of May Fathom Analytics showed me the magic number: 150.

The custom goal I had setup to track when postduif.me would forward someone to some user's social media profile, phone or email had reached a magic 150. I wouldn't've thought we'd reach this amount in only a little over a month.

May 11, 2020 New way to signup: Invite codes

I quickly decided to start charging people for a profile from the start (just €2,65 one time). However, that didn't really feel satisfying, so I added invite codes: A way for people to profit from their friends, family or colleagues having paid for a postduif.me-profile already.

April 30, 2020 First paying customer

Publishing this new version of postduif.me only 8 days before the first paying customer came around was a real surprise.

My friends and colleagues who had used the hardcoded beta, were upgraded to the new version. Some of them shared their profiles to their social media accounts, which caused a lot of traffic.

This resulted in two paying customers, first one on april 30th, second one a few days later.

April 22, 2020 Published first working version

After the first - hardcoded - version hung around for a bit, I started writing version 2: One where actual could be able to get their own profiles and add their socials.

While writing these lines of code, I thought about new and possible features. This really motivated me to keep going.

I started publishing my updates, which up to today still gives me some social pressure to keep updating: https://postduif.me/releases

August 22, 2019 Idea 💡

In dutch, the sentence: "App me, mail me, postduif me" provoked a thought. What if there was a generalized way to find and reach out to people? (Without having a social media vibe).

I decided to check up on the domain name and set up the simplest version, a few pages containing my basic info and some of my friends'.

About

A while ago I heard someone say "App me, mail me, postduif me" - Which sounds pretty cool and made me laugh a little. This made me think about a generalized way for people to find each other's information.
