I wanted to create a web presence for myself from scratch. I rented a server, installed Go, configured some services, and started writing a web server.

One of the goals was to have this server take care of a lot of the things I would have had to use third party services for, so I installed software like Fathom analytics and Gitea.

Another goal was to do most of it from scratch, myself. I decided not to use any frontend or backend frameworks whenever possible. Just Go http handlers on the backend, and plain HTML/CSS/Javascript on the frontend.
