Earthjoy
The gratitude journal that gives back.
Started collecting early user feedback from a group of beta testers. It's incredible the insights you can get from an outsider who isn't as deep in the project.
From these insights I've already improved the UX on the onboarding experience considerably and now feel more motivated than ever. :)
After a TON of effort, I finally released the "pretty" version of the app to the app stores. I'm still working through a few bugs, but it's a great feeling.
In addition to the redesign, I also created some features that many users were requesting, namely, a more "Instagram-like" journaling experience, and the ability to take the collection of their journal entries and make them into something awesome in aggregate.
Really excited to get feedback from people soon!

Marketing so far has been focused on organically growing Instagram followers and engaging with micro-influencers. I reached out to a number of micro-influencers who are currently trying out the app and will share their thought with their ~10K followers each.
Cost-effective way to get some early traction!

To make Earthjoy a more fully featured mental health app, I wanted to provide users with meditations, breathing exercises and nature sounds to help them relax. I was able to find a great partner who already had a catalog of meditations that I could license and add to the app for V2. Big things ahead!

After a ton of back and forth with the app review teams at Apple and Google, I finally got the v1 of Earthjoy approved on both app stores.
The difficulty in getting the app approved centered around Apple's requirement to do subscriptions with their native subscription management and charitable donations. Because Earthjoy is not a 501c organization Apple requires that donations be handled in the browser, which took quite a bit of reconfiguration.
Happy that we passed this hurdle and looking forward to opening up early access headed towards launch!

About
For years I struggled with anxiety and the feeling of not being as productive as I wanted to be. I wanted to create something that people like myself could use to help them feel more moments of joy and help the earth!

Site looks great - good luck with it!
Thank you!
Hey @grizzzzly!
Congrats on starting a really cool activity.
We're building a user feedback management platform @ prodcamp.com
Please let me know if our service can be of any help, happy to help another Indie hacker. π
Cheers,
Anton
Very cool platform Anton. I'll check it out!
Lol I wanted to reply something similar for my product (https://productlift.dev)
Guess we are in the same market :)
@grizzzzly: Your first step is to gather feedback and make sure that you make some users happy. After that, when you want to make things more structured and professional (people can see the status of their ideas and such), then you should start looking for a platform like Anton or mine. This is how I did it for another product of mine. Worked well πͺ
Thanks for letting me know Ruben! I'll check out ProductLift.
Hey Tyler - How are you collecting the feedback from your users? :) I am always looking to improve how we do this over at KOYA.
Yes, I am collecting feedback, but I have found that users are back judges of how long they would like to try something before buying :)
