EasEvent: An app that addresses a problem my wife and I encountered

I'm constantly on the lookout for app ideas, but it often feels like everything has already been done and is available on app stores. Recently, while discussing with my wife, we stumbled upon a common frustration – dealing with event flyers in school-related groups. Converting these flyers into calendar events can be a real hassle. It involves trying to recall all the necessary details, toggling back and forth between your calendar app and the flyer image, inevitably making errors, wasting time, or worst of all, forgetting about the event altogether.

I've come to recognize that this is the ideal problem I'm determined to address, and I believe there's a real demand for a solution. That's why I've taken the initiative to develop EasEvent—an application designed to effortlessly generate calendar events from images and free text.

EasEvent is currently in its early stages, and I'm eager to gain insights into how people use and benefit from it. I'm eagerly anticipating your valuable feedback.

That's a pretty cool idea. Congrats on the launch.

Doesn't the mobile phone's AI detection (Bixby (?)) already recognize those elements (text/date)? Does your app instantly convert it into an .ics ?

Thanks! Both android and iPhone can detect text, emails, links, and sometimes simple event text. EasEvent can detect complex event details and convert to ics. EasEvent converts images (such as event posters) as well as plain text to events in a very convenient way.
