π Hello everybody!
After doing the first few tests with users, I found that the MVP I produced didn't solve a real need.
After other tests and gathering a lot of feedback, a second MVP was produced which was much more successful among the first users π. I'm currently waiting for Google to approve EBLA's browser extension to make it public, and, in the meantime, I'm working on marketing.
Thank you for reading and have a nice day!
π Hello everybody!
EBLA is now officially online and fully functioning, along with a redesigned landing! Give it a try at https://ebla.ai, it's free!
As of now I'm waiting AdSense to give me the permission to use their ads. Once ads are ready, the final step will be preparing for the product launch on Product Hunt, BetaPage and BetaList, and for listing EBLA con the open-startups repositories.
Thank you for reading and have a nice day!

π Hello everybody!
I've added Google login to the EBLA website, so that users can try the product as fast as possible. As the website is made with Vue, I find it easy to use this component: https://github.com/rmartide/vue-google-login.
The only info needed for signing up to EBLA are email and password, therefore the Google login setup has been very fast since I didn't have to collect other data upon signup (e.g. a username).
This is another effort in improving the Activation Metric of EBLA, with the goal of giving users the quickest and best first impression of the product. β‘οΈ

π Hello everybody!
EBLA users utilise:
- the EBLA Browser Extension to collect articles they read around the web;
- the EBLA Web App to see all the articles they have read along with extracted topics statistics.
Today I managed to make the browser extension communicate with the web app from inside the browser and, if the user is logged into the web app, to get her/his authentication JWT. In this way, once the user has logged into the web app, she/he will be logged into the browser extension automatically as well, avoiding a double login! π₯³
This is an effort aiming at improving the Activation Metric of EBLA. The Activation Metric is part of the AARRR framework, a set of metric that product-led growth businesses should be tracking. More info here: https://www.productplan.com/glossary/aarrr-framework/

π Hello everybody!
Following the "Top user benefits model" of Material Design (https://material.io/design/communication/onboarding.html#top-user-benefits-model) for the onboarding of new users, I've implemented the onboarding of new users on EBLA.
Onboarding goals are:
- to welcome users and excite them about the experience ahead;
- to help users implicitly or explicitly understand how the app can be used in their lives;
- to drive users to take actions that increase engagement and retention in the first seven days.
A good onboarding is a must, because it enhances the efforts already made in acquiring users. π

π Hello everybody!
I've integrated Stripe so that regular users can become patrons by supporting EBLA with a small subscription. Subscriptions unlock some perks like:
- π§Ή No more Ads
- π Dark mode
- π― New goal system (yet to be implemented)
- π Advanced data (yet to be implemented)
First patrons are mainly early-bird supporters that want EBLA to develop, as some promised features are yet to be implemented. π
Therefore, revenue streams of EBLA will be:
- Ads for regular users
- Patrons for power users and supporters

π Hello everybody!
Skill levels are now working. This means that when a user reads an article, the user will level up on the skills extracted from that article!
Here is an example:
- upon reading an article about productivity and saving it with the browser extension (e.g. https://www.healthshots.com/mind/happiness-hacks/7-night-habits-to-improve-your-productivity-in-morning/)
- you will get points in "Productivity", "Habits", "Health" and other skills, leveling up on them (e.g. https://pasteboard.co/KgD83Ki.png)
In this way, the extracted skills accomplish two goals:
π they keep your library of read articles organised, as they are automatically extracted
π the user is more engaged in reading new articles, as she/he wants to level up in some skills or discover new skills.
There are 400+ different skills that can be predicted, therefore it won't be easy to 'catch them all'.

π Hello everybody!
Today I stress-tested the EBLA app simulating 100 very active users and the test has been a success: autoscaling is working correctly and the average response time of the backend stays small (except for the small moments of upscaling).
I used Locust.io (https://locust.io/), a framework for load testing in Python. Autoscaling is managed by Google Cloud Run (https://cloud.google.com/run), where I deployed all the microservices of EBLA.
The simulated users do the following tasks:
- signup
- login
- read articles and asks EBLA to categorise and store them
- see all the read articles
- delete account
I was worried that the article categoriser of EBLA wouldn't scale well (which is a ML model built with Sklearn, around 800MB) but it wasn't the case. πNow I can rest assured that problems that will arise on launch day probably won't be about scalability. π

π Hello everybody!
I've created a Google Data Studio dashboard containing Google Analytics data about the landing of EBLA (https://ebla.ai), which can be found on the landing or directly at the following link https://datastudio.google.com/s/rtlolQByzXQ.
There are straightforward data such as the number of users that visit the website, how many click on the signup button, how many visit the open data page, and so on.
I hope to get better numbers in the future as I continue with my marketing efforts.
I tried to directly share the reports in my Google Analytics account but it looks like they can be shared only with members of your organisation or by granting access with emails. If anyone knows how to share Google Analytics reports to everybody, let me know please!

π Hello everybody!
I've just created the Instagram profile of EBLA!
My plan is to publish, at first, posts about productivity in general, such as summaries of famous books like "The Power of Habit" or "How to Win Friends and Influence People". This is because the main customers of EBLA are people interested in self-improvement.
Once EBLA will be launched, I'll publish posts with statistics about the topics that eblings read about, such as "There are N people that consistently read about marketing and sports" and "Eblings read about programming later in the nights", hoping that they will be shared for fun.
You can find the profile here: https://instagram.com/eblalearning
