AirEmbed
Embed Google Sheets and Airtable data in your website
I've been working on AirEmbed for the past week and just launched! This was probably the fastest turn around from idea to launch...
Granted, the web app is still a bit rough around the edges and there's plenty of scope for improvement, but it works and I'm excited about showing it to people and getting some feedback.
I've been setting up landing pages for years. I'm kind of a Rails guy so I typically get a template (or re-use a page from a previous project), customise it and publish.
The problem is that some of the content invariably is dynamic (e.g. team members, faqs, etc). I typically put this into a database which works well. However, updating the database directly when things change isn't great, so then I sometimes write a back end (basically a bespoke CMS) to be able to change certain things which is a lot of effort.
An alternative is to just create a static site, but then the process of updating items is a bit more cumbersome. So I recently put something together where a site is hosted statically but for dynamic elements data gets pulled from an Airtable Base. And that's worked really well for me. So well that I thought it might be fun to turn this into a little side project.
And that's how AirEmbed was born...
