July 2022 Launching EchoWave

I founded EchoWave with another developer in London while working full-time programming jobs. We had met at our jobs and were looking for a new project to work on in our free time (we had a few games and various other side projects). The idea for EchoWave came about when we were at a pub and tried to share some audio on Facebook, but found out that it was not possible to do so without first converting the audio to a video, which was not possible on the platform at the time. So we realized there was a need for an online tool to convert audio to video; thus, the idea for EchoWave was born.

Stage One, Validating The Idea
Before we began programming, we took steps to gauge interest in our project by registering a domain and setting up sign-ups to test the demand.

We put the landing page live, shared it on social media and various other tools, and sponsored PodNews to include a link. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with hundreds of people registering for interest on the WebSite. Still, we had made a mistake by not confirming if people would pay for such a tool.

Stage Two, Building out the MVP
Developing an MVP for a new product or service can take time and effort. Finding a good balance between making a product that works and is easy to use and ensuring it takes little time or money.

One of the first things we did was figure out the MVP's most essential features. We wanted to ensure that users could easily upload, edit, and create their videos from audio, so we focused on building these core features first.

We wanted it to be easy for people to share their videos, so we made the formats work with all popular social media sites like YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter. This made it possible for people to share their videos with more people and helped get the word out about the product!
