Emporter
Create a secure URL to your Mac
Emporter is #4 in the Developer category! I recently made a video of the product, which seems to have really helped people understand (and want) the app.
After a week long trial (which can be canceled at any time), the subscription converted!
There are a couple others still in trial. Fingers crossed!

Everything is done! I just need Apple's blessing. And boy, they were quick. Each submission took less than 24 hours to process. And I submitted three times.

If I'm going to launch a service on the internet, I should put together a solid Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Liability is too risky.

I live in France, what can I say? Everyone leaves in August, even the stores are closed. I needed a break anyway.

It wasn't an easy decision, but I decided to shelf the account management and billing code. This meant "throwing away" months of work.
However, if I used the Mac App Store, I could establish trust with users much easier. Apple reviews my code and makes sure I distribute secure, safe apps, and their new store means I could have more visibility.

With user accounts done and billing done, it was time to send it to more people and get more feedback.
The verdict? I needed to build trust. Creating a service which turns your Mac into a public server comes with great responsibility.

Emporter makes it fun and easy to share in-progress web projects. Easy to use for designers, and powerful enough for developers.

Congrats! Great video. I've tried and failed several times to make a video for an app so I appreciate how much work it is.
Some feedback: You need a much better pricing section on your website. I can't quickly or clearly see what I'd be paying for or why I'd pay.
Thanks for your feedback! I totally see what you mean, Iβll add that on my to-do list :)
Congrats! May I ask you, what tools and approach you used for creating the video? It looks nice!
Hi Stas! I plan on writing a post about it (and posting the source) on my company blog. In the mean time, check out this DIY guide. After reading it myself, I was able to make the video in a few days time.
The tricky part, for me, was getting the timing right, and being able to make cuts of the screen recordings that were pixel perfect (or close enough). It just took a little bit of patience!
Congrats and thanks for telling us. Nice to see confirmed that video is really enabling both sales and exposure for product makers ππ»πͺπ»
Thanks Edwin!
