Ephemerata
A weekly-ish digest of links, ideas, learnings, and sounds.
I decided to experiment with Open Collective and after mentioning it in the fifth edition I received my first contribution. It might be considered a small amount on IH but it reflects a different way of producing software that is more about contributing to the commons. Virtually everything I create is public, accessible for free, and open-source. I'm hoping to earn enough to help me keep adding to the commons and make it all available for everyone.
I woke up on a Sunday consumed by this idea and managed to sit down and flesh out a concept, logo, and first edition in a few hour, and finally share it with the world.
Never thought I would ever do a newsletter, generally hesitating to create 'transient' content, but I embraced the format and even put a joke in the name.
I realized after the fact that this taps into fundamental aspects of community building—continuity, consistency, stimulating conversation.

I’m doing this to stimulate discussion around what I find interesting and also to share things before they disappear into the void of my journal.
