EPOS-AI
AI writing studio for fiction authors and journalists
Hey Indie Hackers!
I'm Marcel, a published author from Switzerland with 12 books across urban fantasy, children's fiction, cozy monster romance, and self-help workbooks.
The problem: Every AI writing tool I tried was designed for blog posts and ad copy. Feed them chapter 19 of your novel and they have zero context about what happened before. They can't track your characters, forget your worldbuilding, and treat fiction like a marketing email.
So I built EPOS-AI — the writing studio I wished existed.
What it does:
- Reads your entire manuscript and keeps it in memory across sessions
- Three-level AI editing: proofreading → stylistic analysis → deep content review with cross-chapter consistency
- A creative sparring partner that actually challenges your plot and character decisions
- Worldbuilding tools, character workshops, tension curve analysis
- Autopilot: book scanner, idea evaluator, and launch planner for market analysis
- Book trailer generator for cinematic video trailers
- One-click export to Word, EPUB, and PDF
Tech stack: Node.js, PostgreSQL, Claude/Gemini/GPT with triple fallback, Stripe, LanguageTool. Hosted in Switzerland, GDPR-compliant.
Built entirely solo — backend, frontend, AI integration, payments, everything.
Current state: Live with paying customers, mostly German-speaking authors so far. Expanding to the English market now. Three plans starting at $29/month with a 7-day free trial.
Biggest lesson: Your own frustration is the best product spec. I didn't do market research — I built what I desperately needed as a novelist. Turns out other authors needed it too.

About
After publishing 12 books I was frustrated that every AI writing tool was built for marketers. None could remember my characters across chapters or check consistency in a 300-page manuscript. So I built EPOS-AI.
