Online fashion styling
Last week I launched the new estilistas.co.uk website and boy is it fast.
Built on top of Statamic 4, it generates a fully static website served from Netlify in under 100ms.
The previous ran directly on Statamic 2 from a DigitalOcean VPS, and I'd managed to get that to serve pages in about 500ms.
So the new site is a dramatic performance improvement! And that's already showing promising signs on search performance - in just a few short days, position for some searches has jumped up by almost 20 places.
But it comes with a bit of extra complexity - detail which I'll go into in a blog post at some point.

It's a bit of a 'quiet' launch - we're going to officially make a big song and dance about it later in the year (to coincide with Estilistas' 10th anniversary) - but for now I'm going to revel in a successful launch.
This is the fourth iteration on the website and branding since we started Estilistas back in 2013. It's also the version that we're most proud of.
But it has taken a looong time to get it finished. We've had a lot of challenges along the way: not having the time to do it ourselves, whilst also not being able to afford to hire someone to do the job either, has meant that it's really been left for a very long time.

I'm please to say that we're really close to it being ready, which opens the door to a lot of advancements in the service we're going to be able to offer to subscribers.
