EverGantt
The AI-free online project management suite!
Hey everyone! Today we wanted to dig into one of the features we lean on most: the Kanban board.
https://evergantt.com/blog/2026-how-a-kanban-board-works/
When we talked about why we built EverGantt, we mentioned that keeping the big tools up to date felt more cumbersome than a sticky note on a desk. That was the design constraint that shaped our Kanban board: it had to be fast enough that updating it never feels like a chore. If updating your board is annoying, you stop doing it, and then your board is lying to you. A board nobody trusts is worse than no board at all.
A few things we're proud of:
It actually maps to how work moves. Columns like Backlog, In Progress, Review, and Done are fully customizable, so the board reflects your process instead of forcing you into someone else's. Need a swimlane? One click.
Everything important is visible at a glance. Each card shows the type (Task, Story, Epic), priority, an effort estimate in hours, the ticket ID, and who's assigned, including multiple assignees when work is shared. The column headers roll up counts and total hours, so you can spot an overloaded column before it becomes a problem.
Group, filter, and sort however you think. Group by user to see everyone's plate, filter down to just the urgent items, sort by priority or effort. The board bends to the question you're asking in the moment.
We'd love for you to give it a try and tell us what's missing. A lot of what's in EverGantt today started as someone on the team saying "I wish it just did X"
Hi everyone! First of all, welcome to our first Indie Hackers post, and thanks for being here! We wanted to provide some background of both ourselves and our product, EverGantt.
Our team is a small group of engineers who has always struggled with project management. We found ourselves trying out some of the larger tools, but found that keeping them up to date was generally more cumbersome than simply keeping a sticky note on our desktop. But, at the same time, we hate meetings, and our sticky-note-strategy required weekly check-ins to coordinate. So what could we do? Relegate ourselves to wasting 25% of our time talking about what we were going to do rather than doing it? Or is there a better way?
Hence, we created EverGantt. Originally just a Gantt chart tool, but we just kept adding things we felt we needed; Kanban, a central notes location, a calendar, etc.
We're now releasing it to the world so you can try it out, and maybe it will help you in the same way that it helped us.

We're engineers. We want to build, but project management always felt like a chore. So we built a suite powerful enough for the whole plan, and simple enough that we'll actually use it.
