Introducing Evlista - Bulk Edit Etsy Listing Photos

Etsy sellers use Evlista to save hours editing their shop's listing photos. Using Evlista, Etsy sellers can easily bulk add, remove, and replace photos. Whether 2 listings or 2,000, Evlista is easy to use and saves you time and frustration.

I created Evlista to solve a problem I was personally experiencing. My Etsy store had grown to over 100 listings. This created challenges when I needed to add, remove, or replace a photo from all my listings. For example, I needed to add a photo that explained a holiday sale to every listing in my shop. Doing this 1-by-1 took forever, and after the sale was over, I had to remove each photo from each of my 100+ listings. This was the "lightbulb" moment. Clearly, there had to be a faster way to accomplish this task.

Existing options on the market such as Vela worked for the basics, but lacked certain features I needed to manage my listing photos.

Today, Evlista is the most powerful tool for managing Etsy listing photos in bulk.

Lessons learned

  • Tackle the project's largest technical assumption first. When you're starting a new project, its easy to naturally want to begin by coding the most simple or basic aspects of the software, such as the login screen or landing page. However, when you're just a 1-person operation, you need to validate that you can accomplish the most challenging part of the project first. For Evlista, this meant validating that I was able to successfully use the Etsy API to modify an Etsy Shop's listings. This was surprisingly tricky, but accomplishing this first gave me the certainty that, at least from a technical perspective, Evlista was possible to implement.
  • Building the product is the easy part! I know this isn't what software engineers and other product-focused people like to hear. We like to think that the technical side is the most arduous and important task. And while it is true that there are challenges building a software project, for a project of this size and budget, the true challenge is changing people's habits and getting users.

If you're an Etsy seller or know someone that is, let me know what you think of Evlista!

I am also creating a SaaS app for Etsy Sellers! How have you been reaching sellers? I have had a hard time getting traction there. Forums and FB groups seem to be against app promotion. Would love to collaborate and learn!

Hi! Reaching Etsy sellers is not easy. You're right, most of the Etsy seller groups explicitly forbid promotion.

That being said, Evlista earned its first paid customers within 1 week of launching. I have adopted a multifaceted marketing strategy specifically designed to reach the Etsy seller niche. Would you be interested in a long-from post describing my strategy?

Your product concept is interesting! Would love to see a video or screenshot of the product in action instead of only stock photos on the landing page.

Also, are you an Etsy seller yourself? As an Etsy seller, I've found it easier to find pain points that other seller might have.

Thanks for that feedback! I am still working on the mvp but I don’t currently like my landing page so definitely will be updating that with some screenshots once I get something up and running. My wife runs an Etsy shop which is where I got the idea from since accounting options are either expensive or require a lot of manual work.
