Running multiple platforms isn’t easy for a two-person team. I’ve tried building an Android app solo in the past, and it quickly became overwhelming. But when Jase and I revisited the idea, we knew it was essential to ensure that history and adventure are available no matter which device you use. We’re thrilled to deliver the same highly acclaimed iOS experience to Android users, making your journey into history seamless across all platforms.
We just launched our first web feature, City Search!
This lets you find history around any US City! From there, you can explore historical markers on a map and have interpretive signs read aloud.
We launched this feature today and posted it on a handful of subreddits, here on IndieHackers, Twitter, and ProductHunt. We tried to keep the language natural, conversational, and are using it as a first pass at learning how to properly market.
For the past 2.5 months, we've been offering our 'pro' upgrade at an early-adopter discount of $1.99, today we launched a new version with a few more pro features and bumped the price up to $4.99.
We've done little research to know what the optimal pricing is for the pro version, but with 2.5 months of data at $1.99, it's a good time to test the price bump.
Say hello to ExploreHere! After 4 months of work, we've officially launched version 1.0 to the app to the iOS App Store!
We started with basic UX wireframes, then moved to more detailed mockups. I got some customer feedback, and started coding! I used a data partner to get some really loyal and helpful Beta testers, which helped me narrow down bugs, and rapidly iterate.
To start out; we’re charging a one time fee of $1.99 to upgrade to Pro features, a sale from the base $4.99. We’ll update the pricing in a month or so, once I can verify stability and get more feedback. A month is also a good amount of time for an AB test to compare against the full price!
Our first code release for beta users to test, use and give feedback. This included all the markers from HMDB.org and has the absolute minimum feature set to get feedback from friends & family - I also used this version to reach out to potential beta testers and shared with HMDB to their editors, to which I was targeting.
