Having launched our initial landingpage (https://getexporteur.com/) a few weeks back & having been featured on Betalist recently, we've now reached 100 signups for the beta of our macOS app!

While we're aware that only a fraction of these people will actually download the beta, be active and provide actionable advice & feedback, it's still nice to know that people at least care enough to throw their eMail addresses at us to be signed up for the beta.

It's been a huge motivation to get our product ready & out the door so here come some weeks of intense work on our app!

Having been involved in developing several responsive websites in the past, I've always been bothered by the lack of fast & efficient tools for image optimization: There's no simple & fast way to generate optimized and responsive versions of your images and illustrations.

Creating optimized images of multiple sizes, in multiple formats (JPEG, PNG, WEBP, etc.) for our websites always involved juggling around multiple tools, moving files around in peculiar ways and repeating the same steps over and over again.

Having finally grown frustrated enough with this situation, we've begun working on Exporteur, a macOS app that will solve this problem.

We know what web developers are looking for in an image optimization app because we are web developers ourselves. We also have a strong knowledge of what apps on our target platform, macOS, should feel like. Having spend a good while learning about how to work with images, image compression and related technologies, we're now ready to build our first independent Mac app.
