Face Shape Detector
Face Shape Detector helps people discover hairstyles, bangs,

I’ve been experimenting with facial landmark detection and proportional analysis over the past few months, and built a small project that classifies face shapes from a single image.
The system maps facial geometry using landmark points across the jawline, cheekbones, forehead, chin, and temples, then calculates proportional ratios to classify structures like oval, round, square, oblong, diamond, and triangle.
One thing I found interesting is how often people misidentify their own face shape manually — especially oval vs oblong and round vs oval.
I also started exploring:
facial symmetry analysis
hairstyle compatibility
beard balance
glasses recommendations
proportional face thirds
The biggest challenge was handling:
head tilt
inconsistent lighting
partial hair occlusion
beard interference with jaw detection
Would love feedback from people working with computer vision, Mediapipe, or facial analysis systems.

Most hairstyle advice online is surprisingly bad.
People are usually told to follow trends instead of understanding facial balance, proportions, and what actually fits their face shape. That's why so many people regret bangs, short cuts, or certain glasses after trying them in real life.
I've been building Face Shape Detector to make beauty recommendations feel more practical and personalized instead of gimmicky.
Right now I'm working on:
- AI face shape analysis
- hairstyle recommendations by face shape
- realistic hairstyle try-on
- styling logic for glasses and bangs
- visual guides for avoiding common haircut mistakes
One thing I've noticed already:
People don't actually want "AI beauty filters."
They want confidence before making a real styling decision.
That's the direction I'm building toward.
