Faceless Directory
Launched Faceless Directory β helping creators find the righ
Hey IH π
Quick update on Faceless.Directory.
First, a confession π
You might've noticed my launch post yesterday had this:
π Launched X days ago
π§ X newsletter subscribers
π X pageviews
Yeah... I was so excited to ship that I forgot to fill in the placeholders. Classic "move fast and break things" energy, except I broke my own post. Lesson learned: proofread before you ship, dummy.
The REAL numbers (Day 2)
Since we're being honest now:
MetricNumberNotesVisitors240Mostly from IH and TwitterPage views300+People are clicking around!Newsletter subs1It's my own email π Revenue$0Affiliate links live, no conversions yetTools65+Still curating more
What I learned in 24 hours
IH traffic is real: 200+ people checked it out just from one post. That's way better than shouting into the void.
Typos don't kill you: Despite the "X" error, the post still hit #5 on the Build Board. Thanks for being forgiving!
"1 subscriber" sounds sad: Until you realize every directory starts at 0 (or 1, if you count yourself).
The plan for the weekend
Fix mobile responsiveness on the comparison tables.
Start adding the next batch of 20 tools.
Actually promote it on Twitter properly.
Question for IH:
For those running directories β I have traffic but 0 organic subscribers. Did you gated content (e.g., "Sign up to see the full list") to get subs early on, or is that a bad UX move?
Cheers,
Gavin
Hey IH! π
I just launched Faceless Directory β a curated collection of 65+ AI tools specifically for faceless content creators (think Reddit story channels, AI news channels, meditation videos, etc.).
The Problem
"Faceless" YouTube channels are blowing up. But when I looked for resources, I found:
Generic "best AI tools" lists that aren't relevant
Outdated recommendations
No info on how tools work together in a workflow
What I Built
A directory that answers: "What tools do I actually need to start a faceless channel?"
65+ tools organized by workflow stage (Script β Voice β Visual β Edit β Automation)
Tool Stacks β pre-built combinations for different channel types
49 guides on specific topics (Reddit stories, horror narration, automation workflows)
Comparison pages (ElevenLabs vs Murf, Runway vs Pika, etc.)
Tech Stack
Next.js 15 + React 19
Tailwind CSS
Deployed on Vercel
Newsletter via Buttondown
Monetization Plan
Affiliate links β already set up for tools like ElevenLabs, Pictory, etc.
Featured listings β letting tool makers pay for visibility (coming soon)
Sponsored guides β native content for AI tool companies
What's Next
Growing the newsletter
Adding more comparison pages (great for SEO)
Reaching out to tool makers for partnerships
Numbers So Far

Hey, nice work, this looks like a genuinely useful tool.
One piece of feedback: the landing page value isnβt very clear above the fold (the H1). The headline mostly repeats the product name, so I had to scroll to understand the "whatβs in it for me".
You might consider something more explicit like "The complete AI tools directory for building faceless YouTube channels" or "Everything you need to start and scale a faceless YouTube channel". This could also help with SEO.
Minor UX note: the Matrix theme is a bit hard on the eyes (at least for me).
Hope this helps, sharing this feedback as a fellow indie hacker.
About
I was researching faceless YouTube, got overwhelmed by generic "AI tools" lists, and realized nobody organized them by actual creator workflow. Built the resource I wished existed.
