I was a speaker at Nashville Home Show in September 2019 where I was invited to share about green living ideas for family homes. I shared all about the different ways we can each recycle, reduce, and reuse in our homes from simple methods to more advanced ideas. I authored a journal for grandchildren and grandparents to help increase connection through fun activities that would then serve as a great keepsake. I was featured on 2018 Nashville NBC’s Today In Nashville where I shared hot, new toys for the holiday season. I had previously been on NBC Nashville's More At Midday and shared cool gift ideas for baby showers as well as CBS Nashville‘s Talk of the Town where I shared unique items for family patio parties. Although my blog did not receive a lot of traffic as a result of these appearances, I figured exposure is always good.

Family Focus Blog was named one of Top 50 Parenting Bloggers of 2015 by the Famous Parenting. I like to showcase parenting experts and, with permission, share excerpts of their latest parenting books. It is always exciting to get new ideas and inspiration from people who so many amazing qualifications.

Family Focus Blog was named #3 on Cisions’s 2014 Top 50 U.S. Mom Bloggers List. My blog had grown from a hobby blog to a blog that was getting lots of paid sponsors and as well as amazing opportunities to cover cool events nationwide. I was blogging beyond full time by this point and posting almost daily.

Chosen by Circle of Moms as one of the Most Influential Eco-Friendly Moms. I love sharing green living tips on my blog for how families can do more to help the environment and keep their homes safe and free of toxins. From simple recycling tips to recipes from homemade cleaning and beauty products, there are tons of eco tips.

Family Focus Blog was selected as Circle of Moms as a 2012 Most Influential Family Blog. I was sharing all things family related that would be useful resources for parents. I took a healthy, green, but down-to-earth approach for sharing things that my own family enjoyed or benefited from.

Family Focus Blog won 2011 StartupNation Savviest in Social Media Award. It felt great to be recognized for my work. I loved using Twitter to grow my business and increase my readers. It was also a great way to interact with other parents and share ideas.

Because I was a stay at home mother with two small children, I wanted to work from home around their schedules. A friend had a hobby blog and so I thought why not give it a try? I started my blog and just went for it. I set up a Twitter account to go with my blog and started learning about both as I went.
