July 22, 2019 Research: How much projects have trial packages?

Then I started FbaCatalog project, I was mostly interested in figuring out what other projects in Amazon space are up too. But we ended up in data gathering stage for little too long -- and only now I have some time to sit down and make sense of the data we collected.

I've heard a lot of opinions from Amazon Sellers about software in the space, such as "free software is probably useless" or "every project must have a trial".

So let's try to figure this out? shall we? I've decided to try out to chart data about Trials first.

According to data that we collected on 320 project in Amazon Sellers space, 170 project didn't had any trial packages at all. This is slightly more than 50%...

It's also interesting, that most popular trial period length is 14 days. Close second is 30 days.

I did couple of charts to visualize this:

July 9, 2019 Premium listing feature released.

www.fbacatalog.com started out as weekend hack project that I launched and somehow got a lot of traction. I've never expected that it will aggregate so much data, never expected that anyone would be willing to pay for premium features.

Yeat -- all of it happened. Our project list is already at ~350 count mark and no sign of stopping. Today we're announcing new premium feature -- priority listing. For those projects that want to be always on top and easily noticeable.

I'm even more stocked what will come next... ( separate announcement will come soon).

March 19, 2019 Data set is always growing!

It's impressive how http://fbacatalog.com data set is growing. I initially was not expecting more than 100 entries. It's now 187 and we're still adding projects in bulk... No end in sight.

The question is: What's your target market?

And the second question is: Is your target market hanging out on Product Hunt? (Or any similar site?)

IMHO In almost all cases, you're better off spending the time guest writing an article or post to target your market on a specific website.

March 1, 2019 Launching on Product Hunt.

After FBACatalog launch on betalist I got a lot of feedback. So two months.. i'm excited to bring you a version I can call 1.0

In two months i've managed to add:

  • Product pages
  • More data points on every product
  • Much more products
  • Product search
  • Bunch of UI/UX tweaks

Today I'm launching on Product Hunt to celebrate this achievement. I'd appreciate a vote/feedback -- https://www.producthunt.com/posts/fba-catalog

Stay on a lookout for 'State of Amazon Software report' ... ;-)

About

Trying to build up an audience for our main product for Amazon Sellers. We also been doing this intelligence internally, so it didn't require us a lot of effort to launch it.
