Feedback Lane
A feedback widget for your website, powered by Notion
Start to launch has taken ~5 weeks. Working with the Notion API has been fun and this is the first "widget" product I've worked on, so there have had to learn some things.
Previous failed projects have taken me ~6 months to launch, so I've always aimed to ship new products in ~4 weeks so I can learn sooner if they will be worth more time or not. 5 weeks is a bit longer than that, but not too bad.
The Product Hunt crowd seems to like Notion so hopefully this launch will give me a good indication of whether or not Feedback Lane has potential.
I committed to building a few more projects until the end of the year before switching to a focus on marketing next year.
Feedback Lane is one of those projects. I wanted a simple feedback widget for my website that didn't require that customers jumped through hoops to leave feedback. Other widgets ask customers to categorise their feedback, add star ratings etc. I wanted one like the Stripe widget. Just an open text field for quickly leaving feedback.
I also wanted an excuse to build something with the Notion API. That's pretty much why I decided to build Feedback Lane.
